Marathon Monday #12

Happy Marathon Monday all!!  As I’m writing this, I’m also prepping for a little vacation!

 

This will mean lots of time in the car, lots of walking & sightseeing, and lots of different food choices… But let’s recap this past week before we dig into all that.

Planned/Actual

Planned:

Monday – 3 Mile Run

Tuesday – No run, Upper Body Strength

Wednesday – 4 mile run

Thursday – 3 mile run

Friday – No Run, Pilates

Saturday – 7 Mile Run

Sunday – No Run, Yoga + Active Recovery & Foam rolling (if needed).

Actual:

Monday – 3 Mile Run 😀

Tuesday – No run, Upper Body Strength

Wednesday – 4 mile run 😀

Thursday – No run, lower body workout

Friday – No Run, Cardio workout

Saturday – 7 mile run — This one was a tough one, not physically tough — mentally tough… but I did it! 😀

Sunday – No Run, Yoga + Active Recovery & Foam rolling (if needed).

How’d it feel?

Missing Thursday’s run was really due to exhaustion — I had a few late night/early morning combos and hadn’t caught up on my sleep.  I literally went straight back to bed (after the 6am alarm Thursday morning) and slept for four more hours straight…

My next challenge is training while not on my home turf.  Training in strange places makes me super nervous — but I’m planning to bring my hubby along to protect me & look out for me!

 

This week’s Plan

Monday – 3 Mile Run

Tuesday – No run, Upper Body Strength

Wednesday – 5 mile run

Thursday – No run

Friday – 8 Mile Run

Saturday – No Run, Yoga + active Recovery

Sunday – No Run, Plyo/travel workout

 

  

How do you stay entertained during long drives?  

Do you have to adjust your runs for travel?  

How do you handle traveling and nutrition?
